You can still water your garden as long as you use drip!
With Water restrictions now (Sept 1st 2010) at level 2 in the Melbourne area, sprinkler systems are still banned unless the water comes from a source other than the mains. However under the restrictions it is still possible to automate your garden watering as long as you use drip irrigation methods and it’s done within the timeframes of the water restrictions. People with large gardens don’t want to continually hand water their gardens, so drip irrigation is the way to go.
For those who have already invested in a watering system prior to the water restrictions, the good news is that the infrastructure such as the controller, pipes, valves etc can still be used but instead of the water coming out of spray heads, it needs to come out of drip line or drippers instead.
There are many ways of achieving the best and most efficient conversion, not to mention tips and tricks along the way. For the DIY savvy householders, they can come into our Wave Irrigation shops in Burwood, Rowville and Hoppers Crossing with their drawings and we can assist them to plan their project and provide them with all the components to complete the job.
However, some people just don’t have the time, inclination or the confidence to do it themselves so they get Wave Irrigation to provide them with a quotation to plan and install the most suitable drip irrigation system for their property.
